Privacy Policy
Ouvrage is a one-person operation selling a single digital product. We collect as little as we can get away with: there are no cookies, no analytics, no advertising pixels and no third-party trackers anywhere on this site.
Who is responsible
Ouvrage, a sole trader operating from Malaysia, is the controller for the data described here. For anything on this page — including a request to see or delete your data — email [email protected].
What we collect, and why
The measurements you enter
When you start checkout we store the configuration you are buying: your laptop's dimensions, the print-bed size and the options you chose. We need this to generate your files and to help you if something goes wrong with the order. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you, and taking steps at your request before entering into it.
Browsing and previewing the configurator does not store anything — the record is created only when you begin a purchase, and it holds measurements and options, not your identity.
Your IP address
Our server keeps short-lived, in-memory counters keyed to the IP address of incoming requests, so that one visitor cannot exhaust the rendering capacity for everyone else. These counters are not written to disk and do not survive a restart. Cloudflare, which sits in front of this site, also processes your IP address as described below. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the service available and not being knocked over by abuse.
What we do not collect
We set no cookies and run no analytics, so we do not build a profile of you, track you across sites, or know who you are when you browse. We never see your card details.
Who else is involved
The seller of record. Checkout is operated by an authorised reseller that acts as the seller of record. It — not us — takes your payment and holds your email address, billing details and payment information under its own privacy policy, which is shown to you at checkout. We receive your order and the configuration attached to it so we can produce and deliver your file.
Cloudflare. This site sits behind Cloudflare, which proxies every request and therefore processes your IP address and request metadata on our behalf, on servers outside Malaysia. It also provides the protection against abuse described above.
We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or pass it to anyone else.
Where your data goes
We operate from Malaysia, and Cloudflare and the seller of record operate internationally. If you are in the EU, the UK or elsewhere, your data will be handled outside your own country as a result of buying from us.
How long we keep it
We keep order and configuration records for as long as we need them to support your purchase — chiefly so we can look into it if your files turn out to be faulty — and to keep basic business records. The rate-limit counters described above are held only in memory. If you want your configuration record deleted sooner, email us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Email [email protected] and we will deal with it. We will not ask you to justify the request.
Being straight with you
Ouvrage is a very small operation, not a company with a legal department. This page describes what we actually do, rather than claiming certification or compliance with every regime that might apply to a business our size. If something here is unclear or looks wrong to you, email us and we will explain it or fix it.
